Disney Resort to Increase Draw Ko Olina
One of the most desirable vacation destination is the Ko Olina Resort in Oahu, Hawaii, with some of the finest beach resorts the world has to offer. Starting in the fall of 2008, Disney has broke ground to build the much anticipated Disney Resort & Spa at Ko Olina.

The Disney resort will be located in the area between the Ko Olina Beach Villas & the Marriott Properties known as the Ewa Plains. The Ewa Plains will be an area of rich foliage including a gigantic artificial volcano, winding rivers, blue lagoons and acres of luxuriant, green lawns.

The resort is scheduled to open in 2011, it will include 350 hotel rooms, 480 Time-share units, an 18,000 square foot spa & an 8,000 square foot conference center. Also, in the works are Hawaiian cuisine themed restaurants, A Disney kids club, a beautiful wedding area & lots of water activites & features , including a water ride down the slopes of a volcano.

Disney will also incorporate tradtional Disney themes, one of the senior executives for Disney, Djuan Rivers, stated " I can't imagine a better match than the storytelling of Disney along with the storytelling of Hawaii.

Disney has done some filming in Ko Olina prior to constructing the new resort, for example a short film with Mickey Mouse called "Hawaiin Holiday," ABC's (a subsidary of Disney) "Lost" is also filmed there.The project also represents a vote of confindence for the Ko Olina area.

The addition of the Disney resort will continue to increase the attractiveness & employment opportunities, Ko Olinais an excellent choice as a resort destination for vacationers, honeymooners and participants in the executive retreats & conferences.
